Imagine a colorful and comfortable glassed-in space next to the Museum’s galleries where families, senior citizens and college students can find a book, a video, a computer CD ROM, a printed gallery guide, an interactive game, or a hands-on art activity designed to enhance understanding and appreciation of the current exhibit or the Museum’s permanent collections..
Imagine a space where a teacher can view a video and learn about outreach programs offered by the Museum for their classroom.
Such a space has been created! It is the outgrowth of the Museum’s long-range and strategic plan, and the resulting feasibility study on use of the former Museum Shop space. With input from parents, visitors and staff, the space replaced that shop and expanded art education outreach to visitors of all ages.
Beginning in the fall of 2005, Arthaus began hosting monthly Story time for pre-school art lovers, ages 3-5, and their grown-ups. Story time includes both a story and a brief hands-on art activity.
